Swaps

Instead of Porridge oats, use Fine semolina, or a rice or corn-based cereal
Oats keep their fibrous husk even when rolled, while semolina and refined cereals are milled fine enough to sit easily in a sensitive gut. Some hospitals allow oats back into the diet once tolerance has improved, so treat this as a swap for the strict early phase rather than a permanent rule.
Instead of Wholewheat couscous, use Fine semolina, or white rice, as the grain base
Couscous is not part of the food list this book works from, so semolina or rice gives a familiar grain base that is definitely on it. Some hospitals allow couscous in small amounts as a fine semolina product, while others exclude it entirely, so check with your own team before using it.
